What are the benefits of installing a fibreglass roof instead of a traditional felt roof?

A fibreglass roof is guaranteed for a minimum of 30 years, with a life expectancy of 100 years. You only need to install this once!

Is a fibreglass roof more expensive?

Initially yes however the long term benefits will be obvious as it will outperform the felt roof – you won’t have to worry about replacing it again during your lifetime!

How long does it take to install a GRP or fibreglass roof?

The majority of our roofs are completed in one to two days.

My existing felt roof is leaking on the joints, how does GRP overcome this problem?

A fibreglass roof has no joints or seams. We use a system of fibreglass and resins and topcoats to form one continuous layer. Therefore even around awkward shapes and edges the GRP system is 100% watertight.

Can you upgrade my flat roof to install more insulation?

Yes, this is called a ‘warm roof’. We can install varying amounts of insulation into the roof to suit your requirements as most flat roofs aren’t very well insulated.

Can I walk on the fibreglass roof?

Yes. If you specify the roof is to be walked upon we use a heavier grade fibreglass and finish with a non slip top coat.

Will I need any maintenance to my fibreglass roof?

No, your GRP roof is maintenance free, however dust and dirt can easily be washed off if you want to keep it looking as good as new.

Is GRP Fire Retardant?

Yes! A GRP roof is fire retardant to BS 476 part 3 and designated EXT.F.AA (double A rated.) the highest rating available for any flat roofing system.
